Aearon — Privacy Policy

This policy explains data processing in the Aearon mail app.

1. Data We Process

  • Your mail account data: the address and your password or OAuth access and refresh tokens, used to connect to your IMAP/SMTP servers.
  • Email content (headers, bodies, attachments) and contacts, used to display, search, and send mail.
  • Your device push token and minimal new-mail data (sender, subject, short preview) used for notifications.

2. Why We Process Data

Data is used only to run the mail client: connecting to your mailboxes, showing and sending mail, and delivering new-mail notifications.

We do not sell your data and do not use email content for advertising.

3. Storage

  • Account credentials are stored encrypted on the Aearon server so new-mail notifications arrive even when the app is closed.
  • Mail is cached on your device for offline access; the cache can be cleared in settings.
  • Signing out removes the associated credentials and tokens.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Your mail and OAuth providers (e.g. Google, Yandex), to access your mail.
  • Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, to deliver push notifications (the push token and minimal mail metadata are sent).
  • Payment providers (App Store) if paid features are used; payment card data is processed by Apple and not shared with the developer.

5. AI Assistant (optional)

If you use AI features (draft, translate, proofread), the relevant message text is processed by the configured AI provider.

The feature is off by default and available only for authorized accounts; on macOS processing may run locally on your computer.

6. Your Control

You can remove an account, clear the cache, or sign out at any time. You can turn off notifications in your device system settings, and revoke access in your Google Account settings.

7. Google API Services — Limited Use

Aearon's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained from Gmail is used only to provide and improve the app's email features for you, is not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features or as required by law, is not used for advertising, and is not used to train generalized AI/ML models.
